collaborative brand design
thrift store / laundromat
The idea for Upcycles started with a shared passion for making boring chores actually fun. My partners, Bella, Brenna, and Elissa, and I built this brand from the ground up, merging a thrift store and laundromat to create a space where you can shop or donate while you wait. It was such a fulfilling project because the concept just clicked for us. We wanted to see if we could take a utilitarian space and make it feel intentional, community driven, and most of all, fun.
We collaborated on every single touchpoint to make sure the brand voice and identity felt like one cohesive world. I spent a lot of time focusing on the physical and environmental side of the brand, from the storefront window vinyls and layout to our branded merchandise collections. One of the most rewarding challenges was the product packaging. I designed the laundry pods, working closely with the team to ensure my work sat perfectly alongside the dryer sheets, detergent, and softener the others were designing. From the promotional email blasts to the in-store experience, we functioned as a single unit to make sure every detail felt like it belonged to the same family.
